Bravo, which brought fashion-focused reality television, like "Project Runway" and "The Rachel Zoe Project" to the masses, will announce its latest project "All That Glitters," a six-hour scripted miniseries on the frenemy relationship between editor colleagues Anna Wintour and Tina Brown. Variety reports Bravo execs will confirm the news on Monday at the network's Upfront conference in New York City.
"All That Glitters," inspired by Thomas Maier's book "Newhouse: All the Glitter, Power, and Glory of America's Richest Media Empire and the Secretive Man Behind It," will focus mainly on Wintour and Brown as they climb the ranks within their respective publications through the '80s. The series, by executive producers Gale Anne Hurd ("The Walking Dead") and Judith Verno ("Masters of Sex"), has been in development since 2015 with Sony Pictures Television and Universal Cable Productions. Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal are on board to write and executive produce the series.
Details aside, what we're really wondering is: Who will play Anna?! Ideally, this would be Meryl Streep's opportunity to bring an even more thinly veiled version of Miranda Priestly to the small screen (can you imagine?), but we're not getting our hopes up. So for now, the Fashionista team is officially banking on an unknown star to play the famous editor. (But, ugh, Meryl would be so good.)
