Clare V. is searching for a Store Manager to lead the opening of our San Francisco store. This person will be responsible for day-to-day management of the San Francisco store, including the development and training of store staff and the development of a strong clientele.

General Overview
The manager operates a profitable and service minded shop through the successful development of a team that can consistently deliver results. Responsible for all aspects of managing a single store including; managing store associates and overseeing store operations to achieve sales, service, customer satisfaction and profitability goals. Work closely with the Director of Retail and Merchandising to ensure the right products are selected to bring into the store. Responsible for budget; including labor cost and overall expenses. All key holders will be taught the skill of monogramming and will monogram Clare V. merchandise in store as needed. The Store Manager reports to the Director of Retail.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:

Customer Service

  • Demonstrates extraordinary service by leading by example on the sales floor

  • Always acts in the best interest of the customer
  • Maintains an effective clientele list and wait list


  • Able to identify talent and develop a well rounded staff
  • Effectively manage, motivate and monitor a sales team on selling skills
  • Can self assess and make adjustments when needed
  • Receptive to performance feedback
  • Trains new sales team members and holds the sales team accountable to the Clare V standard


  • Able to demonstrate shop ownership
  • Develops and executes strategies to drive business and comp LY sales
  • Operates business profitably and minimize potential for loss.
  • Effectively implements policies and procedures and manages daily operations to maximize payroll efficiency
  • Maintains a receiving
  • Successfully completes spot checks and cycle counts
  • Transfers out merchandise and properly damages out merchandise
  • Order weekly store supplies
  • Maintains a visually enticing store that is neat, clean, and organized
  • Eagerness to learn the skill of monogramming and take monogram orders in store

Qualifications / Skills:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and sufficient work experience
  • 2+ years retail management experience and at least 1 year in “Luxury Retail” and/or “High End” service.
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in order to relay product knowledge and services
  • A visual merchandising eye for current trends, color, inspiration and creativity
  • Ability to perform effective selling techniques to achieve sale and repeat business
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective management skills
  • Physical requirements: lift /carry/move 40 lbs. minimum including fixtures and product
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including blackout periods of holidays, inventory, and especially weekends (must work Saturdays)
  • Ability to actively supervise the sales floor
  • Ability to open and close a store
