Politest man on Earth Harry Styles released his first music video as a solo artist on Monday for "Sign of the Times," his upcoming self-titled album's lead single. We knew what to expect after paparazzi shots of his stunt double wearing a glorified "Scream" mask surfaced last month, but even so, this guy knows how to surprise and delight. The clip, beautifully shot on farmland somewhere in England, is full of artistic flourishes that only Styles could orchestrate — like levitating above a body of water, his charm so magnetic it causes a ripple effect in the pool. Physics is crazy!
And while there's no real dress code for mucking around countryside turf before gliding off into the sunset, Styles does his best in Gucci. The look includes a pair of $1,200 Gucci leather Jodhpur boots, which I can't imagine held up well after all that gravity-defying physical activity. (For interested parties, the boots are still available for purchase on Mr Porter.) We'll allow it; it's not like his lyrics for the song in question didn't advise to wear "your best clothes." He was just following instructions, and #Harry4Gucci rages on.
