Everyone at the Met Gala Was Wearing Rei Kawakubo Hair

That's one easy way to get in on a theme.

The 2017 Met Gala paid homage to Rei Kawakubo and her avant-garde, visionary designs for Comme des Garçons. That left lots of room for the event's attendees to interpret the theme as they saw fit, with some at one end of the spectrum — appearing as though they didn't even bother to at least Google Kawakubo beforehand — and others adhering to the theme so closely that they literally dressed as Kawakubo herself.

Luckily for that latter group, Kawakubo's signature look includes a quite distinctive hairstyle: a short, ultra-blunt bob with bangs. Not only is it iconic enough to replicate, it also happens to be super on-trend at the moment. A significant number of Met Gala attendees paid tribute to Kawakubo with blunt bobs of their own, albeit of the wig variety no doubt. Below, all of the Rei-hair havers of the evening.
