British socialite Pippa Middleton was the picture of refined elegance in a couture gown by Giles Deacon at her wedding to James Matthews in Berkshire, England on Saturday morning. Like her sister Kate Middleton did for her marriage to Prince William in 2014, Pippa chose a British designer to outfit her on the big day — though the choice of the eccentric Deacon was perhaps more unexpected than Kate's decision to go with Alexander McQueen for her own wedding dress.

Deacon recently suspended his ready-to-wear business to focus more fully on couture, giving his atelier ample time to work on Pippa's dress. "I do a hell of a lot of research into every client commission," he told Business of Fashion. Pippa has a "great eye," he claimed. "She knew what she wanted."

While Deacon said that he currently works with around 50 or 60 couture clients internationally, it wouldn't be surprising to see that number grow swiftly due to the attention he'll surely get as a result of designing Pippa's gown.

"We're building the business organically," he claimed. "I don't want to take on 70 orders and not be able to fulfill them."

Pippa finished the look with a bespoke veil by Stephen Jones, a tiara by Robinson Pelham, customized pumps by Manolo Blahnik and lots of loving gazes at her new husband.
