I do believe there's something to be said about the act of "moodboarding" — compiling visuals, words or whatever strikes you as a source of inspiration — for the season ahead. Twice a year or so, I try to sit down and spend some time making a concerted effort of what I want the next few months to look and feel like. That, of course, includes clothing, and for the spring and summer months ahead, this dress represents all of that into one tidy, swingy little garment.
I started following the Aussie, celebrity-beloved label Réalisation Par on Instagram several months ago after I realized they made just about everything my favorite fashion people (Alexa Chung) were wearing. All the pieces looked easy to wear, breezy in design and indicative of a girly, devil-may-care attitude that summed up exactly how I like to dress. This dress, the Ozzie, is just about perfect, with an overarching vintage flair, flattering empire waist and low-but-not-too-low V-neck; the slightly tufted shoulders are a nice, sweet touch.
Preferably, I’d wear it and look exactly like this, pore-less skin and all:
It's the ultimate aspirational piece, in every sense.
