With the names Sofia Coppola, Alicia Keys, Mark Ronson and Lionbabe on the invitation, we had no idea what to expect leading up to Cartier's party to celebrate the relaunch of its Panthere watch Friday night. But we made our way to Milk Studios in Los Angeles for what was — no joke — one of the most fun fashion parties we've attended. The combination of the fancy gilded venue, the open bar, the fact that no one had work the next morning, a stellar Alicia Keys performance and a Mark Ronson DJ set got guests in the right partying mood.
Cartier tapped Coppola to direct a short film to promote the Panthere; it has yet to be released, but reportedly takes place in LA and stars Courtney Eaton and Donna Summer’s daughters, Brooklyn and Amanda Sudano, all of whom were in attendance. The dress code was "fearless," but no one follows dress codes; most guests seemed to follow Coppola's lead and went for more of a classically cool, understated look.
Coppola looked unsurprisingly perfect in an etheral black dress, gold ankle-strap heels and a flawless red lip. Her pal and star of her Calvin Klein campaign and upcoming film "The Beguiled," Kirsten Dunst, chose a more casual button-down and high-waisted trousers. Sienna Miller also went with pants — silky ones with a matching camisole; fellow Kate Young client Dakota Johnson opted for a simple black dress, as well. Generally, everyone looked chic AF, and if you're in need of some understated cocktail party outfit inspiration, there's plenty to be found in the gallery below.
