In terms of makeup looks that are difficult to pull off, yellow eye shadow definitely ranks high on the list. But leave it to makeup artist Lisa Eldridge to figure out a way to make it both wearable and flattering. In a recent YouTube tutorial, Eldridge creates a sculpted eye look with matte, primary-yellow eye shadow. "This is the hardest type of yellow to wear because it's such a statement," says Eldridge.

She peppers tips about what types of formula to use (depending on your skin type) and what shade to choose (depending on your skin tone) throughout the video, making it especially accessible for those who may be wary of such a bright and unexpected hue.
