If you're keeping track at home, tally up another campaign for Bella Hadid. After spending the better part of 2017 appearing across promotional campaigns and at events for Dior Makeup, the Model of the Perfect Cheekbones has now been tapped to front Nars's Fall 2017 collection for the beauty brand's brand-new Powermatte Lip Pigment, according to a release. (This comes only days after news that Bella is replacing her sister Gigi Hadid as the face of Max Mara accessories.) On Wednesday, Nars debuted its new Powermatte campaign, photographed by François Nars himself and "inspired by the rebellion and self-expression of the Rock and Roll era." The images feature a punk-y, Joan Jett-esque Hadid with super-dark hair and a smoky eye (by hairstylist Oribe and makeup artist Lena Koro, respectively.). She also appears alongside a black-nail-polish wearing male model, Justin Gossman, with her exact same hairstyle.
"François Nars has such beautiful energy. He's taken so many iconic photographs, so for me to have the opportunity to work with him was a dream come true!," Hadid told Bazaar. "I knew it was going to be an amazing shoot because of how iconic François is and the level of creativity he puts into the makeup and his photographs. It is incredible!"
Hadid is, of course, already in possession of a Dior Makeup contract. It's rare that a model who is the (very public) face of one beauty brand would simultaneously serve as the (very public) face of another's campaign — especially within the same category, makeup — but if there's one thing Bella Hadid has been able to master (other than looking incredible in a catsuit), it's juggling multiple high-profile clients.
Nars' new Powermatte Lip Pigment (the line for which this campaign was created) is described as the brand's "most powerful matte yet," which is saying something, given the number of celebrated lip products Nars already makes. Available in 20 shades (spanning nudes, reds, plums, pinks and even black), the liquid lipsticks will be launching exclusively on the Sephora Mobile App beginning July 5, and then will become available at Nars boutiques and on narscosmetics.com the following day, with a full release at Sephora stores and online on July 13. They will retail for $26 each.
Note: This story has been updated to reflect that Bella Hadid is not, in fact, the new face of Nars as a brand, but rather a model for the Nars Powermatte and Fall 2017 campaign.
