Everybody's favorite Snapchatting Dad (and, okay, DJ/producer/music mogul) is giving fans the chance to own some of his most iconic looks. As part of an effort to raise money for Get Schooled, a non-profit that supports high school and college education, DJ Khaled is launching a "pop-up closet" with social fashion marketplace Poshmark, on which he'll sell items from his own wardrobe in addition to pieces from his merch line, "We the Best."
The partnership with Khaled is part of Poshmark's new Posh Closets for Charity program, and will be unveiled in four product drops, the first of which went live this week. Wardrobe items from DJ Khaled's own closet include the life vest he wore when he infamously got lost on a jet ski (and broadcast his whole adventure via Snapchat), the matching suits he and his too-cute son Asahd wear on the cover of his latest album, "Grateful," and other pieces he's worn in music videos and on the red carpet.
"Innovative social platforms have played a huge role in my ability to connect with fans. There's something special about being able to develop relationships and spread love across the world instantly," said DJ Khaled in a release from Poshmark. “That's why it's so natural for me to partner with Poshmark... It gives my fans direct access to my style, while also raising money for Get Schooled, a charity very close to my heart."
While DJ Khaled is the first celebrity to work with Poshmark on the Posh Closets for Charity program, he won't be the last. According to the brand, Posh Closets for Charity will continue partnering with big names to raise money for the causes they care about in the future (and yes, gain some very pleasant PR along the way).
All we can say is, if people love DJ Khaled's style even a fraction as much he loves his son Asahd, these drops will sell easily — and quickly.
UPDATE, July 26, 2:00 p.m.: Khaled released his second drop this week on Poshmark. Among the new items for sale? His outfit from the "I'm the One" video and his son Asahd's blue Gucci suit. See the full listing on Poshmark.
