Garmentory, the e-commerce site that champions independent boutiques and up-and-coming fashion labels, is taking its ethos one step further with a new summer capsule collection now available online through Aug. 31. Co-founder Adele Tetangco handpicked the limited-edition pieces — 152 total at a contemporary price point, within the $200 range — from 71 emerging designers.
Tetangco and her team at Garmentory started working on this collection as early as last year, asking designers with whom they work directly to submit their designs, including jewelry, footwear, apparel and accessories. From there, Tetangco curated each item, from new and exclusive styles to current pieces created in different colorways. Among them are a pastel pink fleece pullover by Brooklyn brand Plante, with gathered wrist details and an embroidered rose design; a small structural silver handbag by The Common Knowledge from Santa Monica; an Ilana Kohn floral printed jumpsuit made from silk noil; and lace-up sandals with hand-dyed ostrich feathers by Los Angeles-based designer Charlotte Stone, to name a few.
"We had a few one-off exclusives over the past couple of years and received such a cool response from our customers," Tetangco tells Fashionista. "We wanted to give them something super special that celebrated all of the talent we have on the site. Doing this exclusive collection was a way to bring everyone together to showcase them in one cohesive group."
