Altuzarra is the latest label to abandon New York Fashion Week for Paris this coming season. Following in the footsteps of Rodarte, Proenza SchoulerVera Wang and Thom Browne, Joseph Altuzarra just announced that he, too, is switching cities and will present his Spring 2018 show in Paris rather than New York in a move meant to help accelerate his brand's international growth and visibility.

"I was born and raised in Paris, and the city holds a very deep personal significance for me," Altuzarra said in release. "This has been a dream of mine since the very beginning, and now the time feels right. I am honored to be invited by La Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode to show in my hometown of Paris." A spokesperson for the brand confirmed that he is set to show during Paris' ready-to-wear fashion week in September and October, rather than on the couture schedule.

Whether the hemorrhaging of formerly New York-based designers signifies a permanent shift or a temporary trend remains to be seen, but hey — at least the Big Apple is getting Rihanna's Fenty Puma show back this September.
