I am by no means trying to usher summer out any quicker than I have to. Sure, I love crunchy leaves and crisp air, but I also really friggin' love lazy warmth and short nights. But this week in New York has definitely felt chillier than I would expect it to by the end of August. As a result, like it or not, this dress-preferring girl has got jeans on the brain. When fall rolls around for real, I want to have enough good pairs of pants on hand that I don't have to freak out every time I can't find a pair of tights in my possession that aren't hole-ridden.
These wide-leg jeans from DL1961 are next on my list. They take the frayed hems that are everywhere right now to the next level with some serious tatters, and I like that the silhouette is one I don't have much of in my closet yet. Plus, that wide leg will be perfect for layering a pair of leggings (or three) underneath when the cold really hits later in the year. DL1961 also uses fibers that require half the dye, water and energy that it takes to make traditional denim, making them a more eco-conscious choice than your average pair. As much as I love warm weather, dropping temperatures aren't so bad when there's fun fashion to look forward to.
