I have no fewer than four pairs of overalls: two cut-off short pairs (one black, one blue), and two full-length pairs (one non-denim navy, the other in classic blue denim). I wear overalls constantly because the lack of a tight waistband makes them incredibly comfy, and they feel a little bit more unique than jeans while being just as easy to throw on. I love wearing them with a collared shirt for work, or with a sports bra or bathing suit underneath for when I'm putzing around my neighborhood on a summer weekend.
I've been looking to replace my full-length blue denim overalls for awhile as the quality of the denim isn't great, which is why I got so excited to see that sustainable label Kowtow released a pair of overalls as part of their new denim collection. Kowtow has had a hand in setting the bar when it comes ethical manufacturing, as they ensure that everything from the cotton seeds to details like buttons and hangtags are sourced and produced in the most people- and planet-friendly ways possible. If that's not an excuse to add these to my collection, I don't know what is.
Runaway overalls, $290, available at Kowtow
