At this point, it's been fairly well-documented that team Fashionista is here for the Mandy Moore Resurgence. With the success of her NBC show "This Is Us," Moore has had ample red carpet opportunities of late. One thing that stands out about her sartorial choices at nearly every public appearance is that she often goes for '70s-era throwback pieces. That's fitting, considering much of her show takes place in the late '70s and early '80s — but what's refreshing about Moore is that she's so adept at pulling off these subtle retro nods without ever verging into costume territory.
See, for example, the Valentino Pre-Fall 2017 dress she wore at a "This Is Us" for Your Consideration event on Monday. The silhouette and color palette have a slight vintage feel — but not so much so that Moore looks like she wandered off the set of her show and forgot to change first. The sheer paneling keeps the look current — not to mention, also makes it a perfect transitional piece as we near the end of summer and start thinking about fall dressing.
Moore, as usual, also nailed it with her beauty look: a half-up bun, nude lip and minimal makeup. Very '70s. But also modern. You go, Rebecca Pearson.
