I was lucky to be born with a set of relatively long, full eyelashes. But they're not dark, which means that if I'm not wearing mascara, they're not much to brag about since you can barely see them. But if I do wear mascara — as I do most days — they're nothing to complain about. As a result, I've never been very picky about what product I put on them. As long as it's dark, it's fine by me, which is maybe one of the reasons I've never ventured beyond my corner drugstore in pursuit of a satisfactory product.
Recently, though, I took home a tube of this Sephora Collection LashCraft Mascara that had been sent to the office as a sample. The formula kind of freaked me out at first because it's really thick, and when you first pull the wand out of the tube, it usually has waaaay too much product on it. But once I got the hang of using it well (I pull the wand out, scrape some product off on the rip, and then dip it in like a paintbrush to get the right amount), it turned out to be not just an okay mascara but a really, really good one.
The reason I say that is because since I've starting wearing it, I've had multiple people who see me all the time (and therefore know what my lashes normally look like) ask if I got eyelash extensions. The first time it happened, I was like, "Aw, that's sweet, I must've just applied my mascara well today." But given the subsequent occurrences, I don't think I can take all the credit for it. The weird formula and tube situation are definitely worth putting up with for that effect, in my book.
