At the end of August, I took a whirlwind 48 hour trip to Stockholm, and you'd be surprised how many of those hours I was able to spend inside either the famous Acne Archive outlet or the Acne Studios flagship store. I'll spare you the details, but I think I blacked out; when I came to, I had three giant shopping bags in the Swedish label's signature shade of pink on the floor of my hotel room. Luckily, most of my purchases were not full-price, and I did go in with a plan of action.
One item I crossed off my wish list was a pair of black booties with a contrasting grey, marble-patterned heel, and while the exact style is no longer available (that's the beauty and the curse of outlet shopping), they're almost identical to this pair that Acne Studios released for fall. I wore them throughout New York Fashion Week and received one compliment after the other, which provided me with a crucial self-esteem boost after getting lost in a sea of street style stars for eight straight days. They're simple, but the cutout block heel adds just enough pizzazz to make them special. Most importantly, they're actually comfortable, and I was able to walk from show to show without wincing in agony or ending the week with a limp.
I plan on wearing these booties throughout Paris Fashion Week and well into the winter — most likely paired with all of the denim, sweaters and jackets I picked up on my trip. My advice to you? If you ever find yourself in the same city as the outlet store for one of your favorite brands, bring an extra suitcase.
