I'm what you would call a Fall Lover — perhaps to an obnoxious degree. I'm already counting down the days until it's socially acceptable to watch "Hocus Pocus" and honestly won't be sad to bid the humid summer months goodbye. And yet, I'm not quite ready to bust out my autumnal candles just yet.
In my apartment, I'm still going strong on Margiela's Beach Walk Candle, which smells like "sun kissed salty skin," according to its own label. That's an apt description, I guess, because to me it's reminiscent of sunscreen and sea air. There's a hint of coconutty sweetness, but it's tempered by a hit of citrus and saltiness that keeps it from verging on anything remotely cloying. I received it as a gift from the brand toward the beginning of the summer, and just a few months later, it's sadly nearing the end of its wick — that's a testament to how obsessed I am, not demonstrative of its short burn time. (And yes, I burn candles all summer long; anyone who thinks they should be reserved for the holiday season is simply incorrect.)
