On Monday, Phillip Lim took over a sun-drenched, industrial gallery space in Chelsea to present his Spring 2018 collection which, as per usual, was chock-full of menswear-inspired suiting pieces, utilitarian outerwear, crisp shirting with artful details and a mix of both bold colors and prints. Thanks to some brightly hued stripes, cropped graphic knits and flat shoes with built-in ankle socks, there was a fun sporty element this season, too, but it's the accessories that really grabbed our attention: in particular, the straw bags, the bucked ankle boots, the single statement earrings and several styles of sandals.
While the fashion world is still riding the '90s nostalgia wave, the last couple of seasons have proven that the next era to which designers are looking for inspiration is the early aughts, and Lim incorporated more than a few bubble hems (remember those?) on tank tops, dresses and skirts.
