In recent years, Playboy has been fickle with its stance on featuring nude images of women, a signature that Hugh Hefner, who passed away on Wednesday night at the age of 91, has championed since launching the men's entertainment magazine — and, in turn, arguably one of American pop culture's most iconic brands — back in 1953.
And while Playboy has undergone a major (yet successful) revamp over the past year or so, along with the decision to feature nudity again, it's clear that the magazine's 60-plus years of published covers boasted a few great fashion moments to be remembered. Supermodels like Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Elle MacPherson have graced the pages of Playboy, along with Kate Moss, whose January/February 2014 cover stirred rumors in the industry for months. Most recently, French-American model Camille Rowe had the chance to style and creative direct her own shoot and 14-page editorial for Playboy's April 2016 cover.
