Over the weekend, a newly-licensed teen slithered her tiny legs into a pair of super-skinny leather pants to host Hudson Jeans' Spring 2018 preview event in New York City. There aren't too many 16-year-olds who find themselves at the center of a fashion party or who star in campaigns for famous denim brands, but then again, we're talking about Kaia Gerber — Cindy Crawford's 5'9" gift that keeps on giving.
Having gone from your standard high-schooler — aside from the whole Supermodel Mom thing — to breakout runway star of the Spring 2018 shows, Gerber's managed to cultivate her own signature off-duty look, which consists of edgy crop tops and skin-tight, belly-grazing pants — a true uniform for those with limbs for days.
So, we weren't surprised to see Gerber attending Friday's event in high-waisted leather pants, which she paired with a structured black cape draped over a sequin-edged Giorgio Armani corset top. To soften the rebel trousers, the model ditched her tried-and-true combat-boots for some plush pointed-toe Louboutins in a dark rouge. She then carried the color story from her stilettos up to her face for a statement red lip moment. Gerber completed the look with some oversized, '80s-inspired Lorraine Schwartz earrings, which added a youthful touch to a more sophisticated ensemble; the bustier-like top and its cut-outs could read as a little risqué in some circles, but on Gerber, it looked perfectly age-appropriate.
