I'm a bit confused, because when I moved to New York from Texas, I expected to experience a real leaf-changing, apple-picking fall, complete with temperature drops and turtlenecks. But it's officially been fall for a month and I'm still waiting for any hint of a chill — what gives, nature? While I do love a 75-degree Saturday in mid-October, my airy cotton tees and rompers are tired. So to combat my fashion fatigue, I've decided to focus on adding some more transitional pieces to my closet. And this reversible bomber jacket from Maje's cross-pollination with U.S. based outerwear brand Schott is on the top of my wish list.
This bomber initially piqued my interest with its bright red nylon exterior and then really sold me with its velvety orange quilted lining — which can be worn on the exterior, because it's reversible! Not to mention orange and red are Pantone wins for the upcoming season, so even though I'd run the risk of looking like one of those promotional eight-in-one highlighter pens, I'd at least be taking cues from the Spring 2018 runways. Also I'm a sucker for a high collar and love a cropped fit. Therefore, if I had $490 extra dollars right now (I can spot the $5), I would immediately purchase this bomb jacket and wear it over literally everything until winter finally decides to show up and forces me to pull out the big puffer guns.
Maje x Schott Cropped Reversible Bomber Jacket, $495, available at Maje.
