Of all the collections that come down the Paris Fashion Week runways each season, it's Miu Miu's that reliably provides some of the most wearable separates. Even when the Italian label churns out more extravagant pieces — think wildly fuzzy, candy-colored jackets or vintage-friendly swim caps — we find ourselves dream-boarding how we might incorporate the goods into our everyday wardrobes. For its Spring 2018 show, Miu Miu was up to its old tricks: The house's latest didn't lack the pizzazz that make its designs stand out, but yet, remained completely wearable. It's a fine line that very few — with the exception of Miuccia Prada, of course — can toe.
This season, Miu Miu leaned heavier into prints than ever, with some semblance of a pattern cropping up in every single look. Argyle prints were paired with striped blouses; hunter plaids adorned a series of items, including heavy vests and slip dresses; girlish, floral lace sheaths topped off trousers and knit tanks. Though this was a spring collection, there was no shortage of seasonal coats available in everything from retro plaids to dip-dyed leather, the latter of which we also saw across Prada's Spring 2018 wares. Finally, a number of ankle-length formal frocks rounded out the runway in lace — lots of lace! — and crystal embellishments.
Though the overall aesthetic wasn't altogether dissimilar from what we've seen in the past, the collection did possess an overt bookish-ness for which we've grown quite fond. (Gucci, anyone?) But at the same time, it didn't lack the ladylike polish that has made Miu Miu such a hit among Hollywood starlets and street style greats alike. Regardless of personal taste, Miu Miu girls will have plenty to choose from come spring.
