I get fairly severe headaches pretty often, and I've tried plenty of different remedies to get rid of them (including, yes, seeking professional medical advice). But after determining there's nothing actually wrong with me — I just work on the internet and spend too much of my life staring at a screen — I've gotten quite sick of popping ibuprofen, which I do way too often despite finding it to be mostly useless when it comes to defending against my head pains. And I'd rather not be shoveling unnecessary medication down my throat. So, when I tried essential oil brand Saje's Peppermint Halo and it melted my headache away in a matter of minutes, I was flat-out amazed — and thrilled.

My sister first introduced me to it while we were traveling in (90-degree) Havana and I was suddenly struck by one of my usual headaches (not on my vacation time, bitch!). I dabbed the oil on the back of my neck, along my hairline and on my temples, and about 30 seconds later, the bracing, cool peppermint oil did its thing. My headache was completely gone within a few minutes.

In addition to being a miracle cure for headaches, the minty oil also happens to smell zingy and energizing (like the most potent peppermint you've ever sniffed) and can be used on hot days simply to cool you down. A natural, holistic, fast-acting fix for headaches that'll make your face smell like peppermint* and can also keep you from schvitzing? Yes, please.
