There's something about chilly weather that always sends me reaching for my darker lip colors. They just feel better suited to my winter wardrobe and my admittedly pale skin.

When it comes to Holy Grails of winter lip colors, I always reach for this Burberry Beauty lip velvet lipstick in "Oxblood." The color is, of course, super pretty: a deep, but not too dark, berry shade that always gets me compliments. But it's the formula that really seals the deal for me. Mattes can so often feel really drying and stiff, but this stuff glides on easily and never feels like it's flaking, even after wearing it all day long. I've actually almost used the entire tube, a rarity for me considering how often I abandon lipstick shades after just a few uses. Plus, like all luxury beauty brands, the packaging is icing on the cake, with a magnetic closure that keeps it from popping open in my bag.
