This week, celebrities enjoyed another string of glittering events outfitted in some phenomenal sequined numbers. Ever since September, when Tom Ford kicked off New York Fashion Week with shimmering knickers and disco-ball mini dresses, stars and their stylists have been particularly drawn to sparkles. Evidently, the embellished garments aren't just reserved for champagne-filled holiday affairs; the twinkling tops, blazers, skirts, dresses, bras, belts, bags or what have you, pair exceedingly well with movie premieres, talk show appearances and award galas, too.
On Wednesday night, both WSJ Magazine and Net-A-Porter's Porter Magazine honored a number of trailblazing talents — many of whom were women and dressed the part in glitzy ensembles. Reese Witherspoon, who was honored for her groundbreaking accomplishments in entertainment at WSJ's seventh annual Innovator Awards, accepted her well-earned prize in an exaggerated short-sleeved Giorgio Armani LBD. Models Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls were also in attendance and both opted for sparkles; Kloss, the noted healthy kookie maker and koder, jazzed up her all-black look with a sequined blazer, while Smalls was strictly head-to-toe sequins in a Nina Ricci gown with a built-in, bedazzled bikini top.
Across the country and the Atlantic, more stars shined: There was Dakota Fanning in a cobalt blue Dolce & Gabbana dress at the Rome Film Festival and Annabelle Wallis wearing a multi-colored Dolce & Gabbana mini-dress at Porter's soiree in Los Angeles. Finally, "Stranger Things" cutie Millie Bobbie Brown was the talk of the late-night circuit in a glitter-collared Miu Miu jumpsuit that she wore while rapping with Jimmy Fallon.
