Three seasons ago, Off-White designer Virgil Abloh opened his brand's Spring 2017 show with model Selena Forrest in an oversized, asymmetric-ruffle top and a pair of sandblasted boyfriend jeans, complete with a circle-pull zipper so small that it was easy to miss. Neither the pants nor the subtle O-ring pull that adorned them were revolutionary on their own, but when you consider the fact that the tiny metallic detail made it onto no fewer than eight of his other 35 designs that season, you'd think fast-fashion retailers would be teeming to create their own versions of items with similarly edgy hardware — and fast.

But it wasn't until a near-identical pair of jeans — and a ruffled denim midi skirt, and a blue jacquard bomber — with the same accent found its way into Off-White's Fall 2017 collection, too, that the circle-pull finally took off. In the past few months alone, the understated feature has cropped up all over boots, jackets, pants and even belt-bags from brands like Reike Nen, A.L.C., Pomelo and Jeu Illimite, respectively.

It isn't hard to see why: Functional at its core, the circle-pull is a small detail that's subtle enough to go explicitly unnoticed, but can give an otherwise plain outfit a quick, I-can't-put-my-finger-on-it upgrade. Ahead, 19 pieces — pants, jackets, and even a few pairs of boots — that boast the tiny accent. Let's take it out for a spin — or shall we say zip?
