Here's the thing about incredible women: They're everywhere, flexing their powers in ways big and small, public and private, often for no one's eyes but their own. We're big fans of such incredible women around here, and Net-a-Porter's Porter Magazine went about honoring a number of them — 50, actually! — at its second annual Incredible Women Gala in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening.
Co-hosted by Editor-in-Chief Lucy Yeomans and Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley, the soiree spotlighted 50 women "who have challenged the status quo," with special attention paid to the entertainment industry, which not only saw women at the forefront of the year's most celebrated film and TV projects, but more recently, was also rattled by widespread industry harassment and abuse allegations.
The attendees looked great — incredible, even — for the occasion, with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Brie Larson, Charlize Theron, Misty Copeland, Gugu Mbatha Raw, Kate Bosworth, Elizabeth Banks and more turning out in structural white gowns, patterned pantsuits and embellished tank dresses. The fashion was good, sure, but the sheer womanly power in that room was better. The gala's guest list lived up to its name.
