It's a good time to be Saoirse Ronan. Her critically acclaimed film "Lady Bird" recently became the single most positively reviewed movie on Rotten Tomatoes, surpassing "Toy Story 2"; "Saturday Night Live" announced that she's nabbed a coveted hosting gig next weekend; and she also wore a really great Rodarte gown on the red carpet. A pretty legit trifecta, if you ask us.
The look in question is a full-length white tulle and lace dress, hand-beaded and embroidered with fuchsia and black flowers. It was a standout piece from the label's Spring 2018 collection, and it was a solid choice for Ronan (and her stylist, Elizabeth Saltzman) for the Independent Film Awards, melding red carpet elegance with a hint of feminine playfulness, as is Rodarte's specialty. At the awards ceremony, for which Ronan was nominated for Best Actress for her work in "Lady Bird," she styled the look simply, with her hair swept up into an unfussy knot and Tiffany & Co. earrings as her only accessory. She looked every bit the part of A-list Rodarte darling, joining the ranks of some of the Mulleavy sisters' favorite style stars — think Kirsten Dunst, Natalie Portman and Elle Fanning.
The now-23-year-old Ronan, her career and her wardrobe have certainly come a long way since her memorable turn as an adolescent troublemaker in "Atonement," and we're very much here for all of it.
