On Wednesday, Victoria Beckham announced via Instagram that she has a partnership with Reebok in the works. Dressed in white sneakers, loose-fitting track pants and a T-shirt, her look reads much more Sporty than Posh Spice, but it seems we'll be seeing more of the designer in athletic wear next year, as the Reebok x Victoria Beckham collection will officially drop in late 2018.
The British pop icon turned beloved luxury designer has proven to be a definitive source of working woman outfit inspiration. Her collections are filled with structural pieces made in subtle feminine fabrics that inspire confidence, power and strength. And although Beckham's runways are more commonly filled with glittery heels than gym shoes, her design mission and that of Reebok's is one of the same: both brands seek to empower women. (It must be said, however, that Beckham's runway uniform has gotten much more relaxed over the years, and she's even gone so far as to wear suiting with white sneakers.)
"As a brand, we look to partner with not just influential women, but women who want to truly change the world," said Reebok's Corinna Werkle, Senior Vice President of Women's Initiatives at Reebok in a press statement. "There's no better embodiment of this than Victoria. She is a true visionary who possesses a relentless desire to help women become the best version of themselves."
The Reebok x Victoria Beckham collection will be a part of the Reebok Innovation Collective, which is an initiative within the sportswear brand that focuses on developing footwear and apparel that are on the forefront of fashion and technology.
"I am incredibly excited to embark on this partnership built on shared values. I have always championed instilling confidence in women and Reebok is a brand that has been at the forefront of this same message for decades," Beckham said in a press statement. "To have the opportunity to challenge the traditional notions of fitness wear within a fashion context is something I have always wanted to do."
