If there's one thing the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show knows how to do (aside from creating $2 million lingerie and putting once-unknown runway models on the map), it's maintaining a churning rumor mill, the likes of which have been gurgling about the 2017 event's performers for weeks, if not months. And with the annual extravaganza set to film in Shanghai in the coming days, it looks like that buzz is finally coming to light.
Late on Monday, eagle-eyed fan accounts picked up on an announcement from Harry Styles's label, Columbia Records, that seemed to "confirm" his performance of "Kiwi," his latest single. And though Columbia hasn't yet verified the news, Styles is on a break from his "Harry Styles: Live on Tour" circuit until a Thursday, Nov. 23 show in Singapore. Make of that what you will, but let's just hope Gucci has a special, glittery pink suit in the works for the occasion.
Katy Perry is also reportedly set to perform, reports both Pop Crave and Perez Hilton (as well as a bevy of fan accounts), making this her second time on the Victoria's Secret runway following her debut in 2010. Perry, who is currently touring her latest album, "Witness," has a break in tour dates from this Tuesday through Friday, Nov. 24, where she plays in Salt Lake City.
Additional social media rumblings also speculate that Miguel will join Styles and Perry, though that remains less confirmed.
We've reached out to Victoria's Secret and will update this post as we learn more.
UPDATE, Saturday, Nov. 18, 12:35 p.m.: In an exclusive statement to People, Ed Razek, the executive producer of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and chief creative officer at Victoria's Secret confirms the musical guests set to perform at the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show: "We started booking our musical guests months ago when Harry Styles, international superstar, signed on," Razek said. "Also appearing are Grammy award-winning artist Miguel, Tony award-winning star of Hamilton Leslie Odom Jr., and Chinese sensation Jane Zhang. We are incredibly thrilled to have them with us." Earlier this week, rumors floated around regarding Katy Perry's inability to perform at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai because she was denied access into the country.
