As more and more Year-in-Review lists make the news, one that we look forward to most this month is Google's recap of what's trending among its users. Released on Wednesday, the search engine reported its most popular inquiries for 2017, which you can read in full on its website. We picked apart what people were curious about when it comes to trends and brands in fashion and beauty, as well as celebrity hair. Read on to find out.

Among Google searches for fashion brands, most of the list is of the high-end variety, with Gucci at number one, naturally. In addition to topping Lyst's most-searched brands list for 2017, the Italian fashion house has had quite the banner year with a continued exponential growth spurt and a slew of highly coveted "It" items on the market. Louis Vuitton and Supreme come in at number two and three, respectively, most likely for internet hubbub surrounding its surprising collection, which was revealed at the very beginning of the year during men's fashion week in Paris. Supreme also made news in October when private equity firm The Carlyle Group bought a significant stake in the reportedly one-billion-dollar streetwear business.

In addition to Supreme, another not-so-high-end label that made the cut is Los Angeles-based Fashion Nova (#4), which has garnered a massive cult following thanks to its major Instagram presence and celebrity cosigns by Cardi B, Kylie Jenner and Blac Chyna, among others.

For beauty brands, suburbia-favorite Ulta Beauty tops the list. (Though, the retailer has made its big-city debut in New York with a new Manhattan flagship that opened in October.) Fenty Beauty may be low on the list (#8) for 2017, but it's actually quite impressive that the Rihanna-owned line cracked Google's top 10, given that it's only existed for a mere four months total. (Fenty Beauty arrived in stores at the beginning of September.) What's also impressive is that a handful of brands that round out this list are indie names — in other words, not owned by major beauty conglomerates, like L'Oréal or Estée Lauder — including BH Cosmetics (#2), Charlotte Tilbury (#4), Milk Makeup (#5) and Huda Beauty (#9).

In previous years, Google rounded up its most-searched questions in fashion and beauty, but for reasons unknown, the global search engine only looked into the latter for 2017. Users' queries were mostly about skin care, specifically pimples (#1), back acne (#2), acne scars (#5), pores (#6), eye bags (#8) and exfoliating (#9). When it comes to makeup application, questions surrounded the lip brand Lipsense (#7) and applying highlighter (#10), while removing acrylic nails at home (#3 — also, ouch!) was also a top beauty question on Google.

While Google has named its next list "Styles and Trends," it seems like most users are more interested in what's of-the-moment in the beauty world. BeautyBlender, the makeup sponge that has existed for more than a decade but has become ubiquitous in recent years, is at the top of this list, followed by mink lashes (an alternative to synthetic false eyelashes), Halloween makeup (pretty self-explanatory) and eyelash lifts. In case you're wondering what feather eyebrows (#9) are, this funky trend, which involves feathering out brow hairs so they appear thicker, went viral on Instagram in the spring of 2017.

Lastly, Google decided to look into what we were searching for when it comes to celebrity hair, and let's just say it runs the gamut. The top inquiry goes to Jeremy Lin, whose hairstyles, which range from man buns and mohawks to braids and dreads, have caught so much attention, GQ decided to interview the NBA player about it. Lin also took to The Players' Tribune in October to explain what's behind his hair choices. Two more men — Steph Curry (#2) and Javier Baez (#9), who are both professional athletes, as well — also make the list. Meghan Markle (#4) is also a high point of interest for her hair, and now that the "Meghan Markle Effect" is a officially A Thing, we expect plenty more Googling of her name through 2018, too.
