Another day, another major masthead change at Condé Nast. On Friday, longtime GQ Creative Director Jim Moore announced he would be stepping down from his role at the title, according to a release from the publishing house.
Moore, who has been at the title for four decades, will maintain his influence at the men's magazine under his new role as creative director-at-large. Per Business of Fashion, details of what exactly that will entail are still under discussion. In the meantime, GQ Style Editor-in-Chief Will Welch will take over the creative director position in January. He will retain his role at GQ Style.
In November, GQ laid off a number of staffers as part of a larger Condé Nast initiative to cut costs; the magazine also reduced its frequency by one issue per year, bringing the total down to 11.
