I always set aside slouchy corduroy pants in my mental pile of clothes reserved for models off-duty and international blogger types. But after a sudden bout of denim fatigue, I'm ready to broaden my bottom horizons and embrace the corduroy comeback. The retro material was spotted on Fall 2017 runways in all sorts of lovely autumnal hues — mustard yellows, warm burgundies and chestnut browns — and the trouser trend has since trickled down to the virtual racks of my favorite retailers, gradually convincing me that I should get a pair.
I found a perfectly baggy, a-line-shaped pair of cotton corduroy pants on Lacausa, which are simply styled with a striped crewneck tee and some black kitten heel mules. I especially appreciate these corduroy trousers for their subtle pleat detailing and their cropped length. I've thus decided that these '70s-inspired bottoms are going to temporarily replace my tried-and-true blues, because even with their pale yellowish hue, I'm pretty convinced that they'll go with my entire winter shirt and shoe lineup.
Frankie Trousers, $154, available at Lacausa.
