E! is certainly no stranger to fashion programming, effectively throttling the Kardashian-Jenner family into the industry aristocracy, broadcasting 216 episodes of "Fashion Police" and, of course, covering the Met Gala red carpet from a studio 40 blocks away. Now, E! is dipping its toes into the world of modeling — beyond its coverage of Kendall Jenner's career — with a brand-new, eight-part, hour-long docu-series called "Model Squad."
"Model Squad" is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: The show follows a number of the business' busiest working "supermodels" as they go about their careers in "the high-stakes fashion industry," including Daniela Braga, Hannah Ferguson, Ping Hue, Nadine Leopold, Caroline Lowe, Ashley Moore, Shanina Shaik, Devon Windsor and Olivia Culpo.
"The business of high fashion is competitive and cutthroat, but it provides unparalleled opportunities that so many dream of," said Amy Introcaso-Davis, Executive Vice President, Development & Production, E!, said in a release. "With the network deeply rooted in both fashion and pop culture, 'Model Squad' is tailor-made for our viewers as this series brings exclusive access inside this unique celebrity lifestyle while also showing how these fierce women empower each other in such a high-pressure industry."
"Model Squad," which is produced by IMG, previews — when else? — during New York Fashion Week on Monday, Feb. 12 at 10 p.m. EST, with the series set to debut in fu later this year.
