In addition to being a noteworthy beauty entrepreneur who, it could be argued, is single-handedly changing the cosmetics industry, Rihanna is also a musician and an immensely talented performer. (Just in case you forgot.) The 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday evening served as quite a compelling reminder of that fact. After taking home the first award of the night for Best Rap/Sung Performance, along with Kendrick Lamar for "Loyalty" — in a chocolate-brown, patent leather Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture trench coat and boots — Rih reappeared on stage later in the show to perform "Wild Thoughts," along with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller.
It was a colorful spectacle, with the singer donning a sparkly fuchsia custom gown by Adam Selman, complete with a fringed hemline and a hibiscus draped behind her ear. Her hair, voluminous and free-flowing, capped off the look. The resulting effect was festive and celebratory — and also reminiscent of the dancer emoji, albeit in a pinker-hued dress. But of course, Rihanna made it all her own, in true Rihanna fashion.
