On Saturday, all eyes were on Burberry as the company's final collection under Christopher Bailey's tenure debuted in London. Bailey, who announced his departure from the British heritage brand back in October, celebrated his 17-year reign by giving the iconic Burberry check a bright makeover: As a tribute to the LGBTQ+ community, Bailey reimagined the house's signature plaid by incorporating hues of the rainbow. The updated version thus featured red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple woven into the hallmark print.

During his time at Burberry, Bailey spun its once-tired check offerings into chic and highly sought-after garments worn by the best-dressed likes of Rihanna. And his latest and last installment for the brand epitomized his ability to refresh old classics: He used archival prints on windbreaker tracksuits, gave the famous plaid just about every rainbow twist possible and continued to remix the classic trench coat with new fabrics and modern embellishments. Adwoa Aboah led the model pack on the catwalk in an oversized pale pink graffiti print hoodie worn over a floor-length cream skirt printed with a rainbow flag, setting the tone for the rest of the multi-colored collection. Rainbow accents were spotted from head-to-toe: There were rainbow baseball caps, visors, chunky knits, puffers, handbags, capes, anoraks, sneakers, vests and more. The rainbow pieces are available to shop immediately following the runway show as part of its “see now, buy now” strategy, with all proceeds from the sales going to three charities that support LGBTQ+ communities: the Trevor Project, the Albert Kennedy Trust and ILGA.

The show closed with Cara Delevingne strutting through a rainbow-lit tunnel, while wearing a rainbow flag faux-fur cape. Bailey then followed to give his final Burberry bow. His bright goodbye collection proved that he will forever be known as the man who brought London's luxury fashion house back to life. And what's more, it was an important celebration of love — in all of its many forms.
