London Fashion Week came and went over the weekend, and even the royals got in on the festivities. On Monday, Kate Middleton and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, co-hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate a new fashion exhibition honoring design from across the countries in the Commonwealth, an initiative called the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange.
Plenty of fashion notables were in attendance — Anna Wintour, Hamish Bowles, Edward Enninful and so on — but the real scene-stealer was Naomi Campbell, who was every bit the part of British style icon. She chose a golden-green vintage Pierre Cardin gown with voluminous shoulder detailing and matching sheer, minty green gloves.
With such a major dress, the supermodel kept the rest of the look simple, wearing her hair in a neat, center-parted low ponytail and carrying a diminutive black clutch.
This is what we, in the fashion industry, refer to as a "lewk."
