There was certainly no shortage of color on the runways at the New York Fashion Week Fall 2018 shows; we've spotted neon animal prints, candy-hued hosiery and Cheeto-orange accents. The same went for beauty, with a plentiful showing of bold lip colors, vivid eye makeup and, of course, a plethora of bright nail looks. This season, plenty of nail artists ditched subdued nudes, instead favoring statement-making art and eye-catching effects.

At Jeremy Scott, Miss Pop (for Essie) was inspired by the rave-ready collection, and thus created a cool, techno-animal-print-pattern on the nails, done in three different highlighter-hued polishes. Similarly, at Chromat Eda Levenson of @ladyfancynails (who teamed up with Chillhouse and CND) gave models vibrant, flaming hot Cheeto-colored stiletto nails with a checkered pattern. Then over at Cushnie et Ochs and Tanya Taylor, Julie Kandalec (for Essie) experimented with nontraditional French manicures by trading white tips and clear gloss for glitter-dusted base coats and metallic accents.

We also spotted a smattering of moodier tones, including dark purples, murky blues and deep reds, which were made more extravagant with dramatic length, shine and even the occasional crystal. Red seemed to see the most action by far, which indicates an upswing in rouged fingertips come autumn. Better stock up on the classic polish shade now!
