When Prada returned to the resort calendar last year, the Italian fashion house stayed local with a runway show inside the Fondazione Prada Osservatorio, a new visual arts exhibition space in Milan. Now, Miuccia Prada is taking her next collection abroad by hosting the Cruise 2019 show in New York on Friday, May 4, according to WWD. (A spokesperson for the house did not immediately respond to Fashionista's request for comment.)

Prada is following the tradition of its luxury peers with special on-location runway shows specifically for resort. Last week, Louis Vuitton announced that its upcoming Cruise 2019 runway show will take place on the French Riviera, while Gucci plans to travel to the Provencal city of Arles, France towards the end of May. No word yet on the far-flung locations for Chanel and Dior, which showed in the Greek countryside (via Paris's Grand Palais) and Calabasas, Calif., respectively.

We reached out to Prada for additional information and will update this post as we learn more.
