Here in New York, this week feels like spring in a big way. And while I know that feeling won't necessarily last — i.e., if we had snow again next week, I wouldn't really be surprised — the pleasant weather outside my window at the moment has me aching to give my much-worn water- and snow-proof footwear a break. I want to wear light-colored sneakers and sandals and not worry about stepping in grimy slush or freezing rain! I want to wear more color! I want to buy fresh flowers!

That said, my ideal version of spring-y clothing doesn't necessarily include flouncy dresses and hyper-femme details, so these blush-colored sneakers from THEY New York would be the perfect thing to kick off a new season without compromising on my somewhat boyish style. I also love that THEY manufactures in a small, family-owned factory in Taiwan, sources its leathers from countries with a reputation for high environmental standards and minimizes waste in the manufacturing process. Urban life-appropriate, spring-ready kicks with an ethical bent? Sounds like the perfect pair of shoes to me.
