A certain footwear microtrend has been following me around recently: snakeskin boots. I first noticed it on Reese Blutstein, also known as @double3xposure, when she wore a cool, clunky pair by up-and-coming designer Nicole Saldana; at a store opening near the Fashionista HQ, one of the sales associates wore a subtle-but-stylish version with jeans; and during Kim Kardashian's travels to Japan, she wore knee-high snakeskin boots from Yeezy's Season 7 collection.
These encounters convinced me that I, too, needed my own pair, and conveniently, Alias Mae landed in my inbox. The Australian footwear brand boasts plenty of Instagram-friendly styles, including a pair of snakeskin boots that would go very well with my wardrobe. I love the graphic pointy shape, and the sturdy heel means that they'll be comfortable enough to wear from day to night. Plus, the snakeskin color serves as a nice neutral, so I can easily match this pair with anything, from a cute mini-dress to distressed denim.
Currently, the boots are sold out (not surprised, to be quite honest), but the brand plans on restocking in April. Until then, I'll mark my calendar and count down the days until I can place an order. Patience makes the heart grow fonder — even for shoes.
