On Monday, Dior announced that Kris Van Assche is leaving his top spot as the artistic director of Dior Homme following a successful 11-year tenure at the brand. The designer will be replaced by Kim Jones, who departed his role as artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton in January.

"I am leaving this beautiful House to pursue new challenges," Van Assche said in a press statement.  "I wish to thank Bernard Arnault for the trust he placed in me, Sidney Toledano and Serge Brunschwig for their warm welcome at Dior and their continuous support during all those years of collaboration." His next assignment has yet to be announced.

This latest changeup in the luxury menswear world comes after Hedi Slimane's appointment at Céline, Riccardo Tisci's appointment at Burberry and Jones' departure from Vuitton, where the Central Saint Martins grad established himself as a beloved designer on the menswear scene. Jones' new post at Dior Homme marks the company's first major appointment since the new CEO and chairman of Christian Dior Couture, Pietro Beccari, joined the company from Fendi in February.

"I am delighted to welcome Kim Jones at Dior Homme," said Beccari of the new appointment. "He will benefit from the support of the teams and from the 'savoir-faire' of the Ateliers to create an elegant men's wardrobe, both classic and anchored in contemporary culture. I am confident that he will continue to further develop Dior Homme on a global scale."

Jones will present his first collection for Dior Homme next June, during the Paris Men's fashion week.

"I am deeply honored to join the house of Dior, a symbol of the ultimate elegance," Jones said of his new role. "I would like to warmly thank Bernard Arnault and Pietro Beccari for their trust in giving me this incredible opportunity. I am committed to create a modern and innovative male silhouette built upon the unique legacy of the House."
