Miu Miu has long been a favorite amongst Hollywood's young female talents. This season, the brand capitalized on that by casting Elle Fanning, who's been a friend and supporter of the house for years, in its runway show. Fanning scored the opening and closing slots, wearing oversize coats and a larger-than-life beehive hairstyle by Guido Palau. While it may have been her first time on the runway for the brand, it's not her first Miu Miu rodeo, as she's starred in ad campaigns for the label in the past.
Fanning wasn't the only familiar face on the Miu Miu runway, of course. She was joined by fashion greats like Adwoa Aboah, Kaia Gerber, Slick Woods and more, all of whom trotted down the catwalk wearing '80s-influenced silhouettes (think big shoulders) and materials (think acid wash everything). The collection is sure to be aesthetically polarizing — Washington Post fashion critic Robin Givhan already described it as "dire" via Twitter — but since designer Miuccia Prada has proudly proclaimed in the past that "ugliness is... more interesting than the bourgeois idea of beauty," maybe we shouldn't be all that surprised.
