Last year at Coachella, I gave the fanny pack trend a try thanks to a last-minute purchase from Asos. It was the perfect occasion to have a bag (that was once considered a fashion faux pas) held close across my chest: I could double-fist drinks, hold up my bandana to my face (desert dust is no joke) and jump around to Kendrick Lamar without having to worry about a purse hanging off my person. It was great.

Now that the weather is getting warmer and I'm slowly emerging from a winter-long cocoon of winter coats, I'm also starting to get sick of switching between my backpack and crossbody bag. As my wardrobe gets lighter in weight and layers — no more oversized sweaters and Heattech here! — I want my accessories to be minimized, too.

But I need an upgrade from my previous fast-fashion purchase, which means that I have my eye on this waist pack by Want Les Essentiels. You can tell that every single detail was highly considered by the brand's design team: A combination of cotton, mesh and leather keeps this bag lightweight, while the adjustable strap, side metal rings and simple clip closure makes it super-versatile to wear. And with a price tag that's just under $200, this bag is not a bad deal, considering that other fancy fanny packs can cost up to around $1,000 or even more.

While I have no plans to attend a music festival in the near future, I know that I'd wear this bag almost everywhere through the spring and summer. I just have to wait for this weather to finally heat up so I can finally get rid of my damn coat.
