Here at Fashionista, our penchant for the new-and-certainly-improved Abercrombie & Fitch is extremely well-documented. But if, for whatever reason, you're not familiar with our obsession, allow me to give you the short version: We first began exclaiming that the newly-rebranded A&F was, like, really cute last spring — and before long, Steph and I began showing up to work wearing the same A&F stuff at least once a week. Now, I know to look to the Ohio-based retailer for my lower-priced basics: Last summer, for instance, I picked up a cotton midi dress and an easy, super-light striped button-down, both of which I wore a ton. The pricing is just about what I'm looking to spend on something so simple, but I've found the material to be very nice.
If you're still a little wary of the traditionally teen-oriented retailer I, personally, feel like a great place to dip your toe back into the A&F waters as an adult is with its shirting. It's nothing extravagant — which is to say, not my tried-and-true, absolutely perfect J.Crew button-down I've worn almost once week since 2009 — but it really gets the job done. I've had my eye on this so-called "Boyfriend Shirt" for a few weeks now, just waffling on which color I should get (though this morning, I think, I decided I'm going to go for the blue stripe, pictured here). Doesn't this look like exactly the thing you'd want to throw on with white jeans and mules for a glass of rosé, or over a damp swimsuit and your favorite jorts after a day at the beach? Why, yes. It sure does.
Your honor, I rest my case.
