At this point in fashion history, a sharply-tailored suit or statement-making, wide-leg pant can be found amongst the wardrobes of most of Hollywood's best-dressed women. But this past week on the red carpet, those pants stayed behind closet doors as stars opted almost unanimously for flouncy frocks and sexy gowns instead.
A few, like Emily Blunt in pink-skirted Oscar de la Renta and Rosario Dawson in voluminous embroidered tulle, went full-on princess. Some chose more sensuous little black dresses, like Rihanna in black leather Versace and Aubrey Plaza in velvet Alexandre Vauthier. Still others, like Leslie Mann in Zac Posen and Chloë Sevigny in Simone Rocha, gravitated toward pretty patterns. It just goes to show that no matter how popular pants on the red carpet become, you'll never be able to completely take the "dress" out of "best-dressed."
