I don't know about you guys, but when the temperature gets above 70 degrees, I can't get enough of floaty dresses. Nothing makes getting dressed easier than throwing on the perfect summer dress. It's why I start loading up on them even when snow is still piling up on the ground: Much like Pokémon, I just gotta catch 'em all.
While putting together a roundup of the best gingham skirts and dresses of the season, I found the Holy Grail of summer dresses in this number from Chriselle Lim's collaboration with J.O.A. It's a faded pink-and-beige gingham print, cut to sit off the shoulders just so — which, I will level with you, does wonderful things for my bustline, especially with the wrap effect at the front. The sleeves are tiered, creating the perfect amount of drama, and the length is flirty but still totally wearable for day. I can see wearing it with a pair of Mary Janes to the office just as easily as I could with a pair of strappy sandals for a balmy summer date night. My ultimate dream, however, is to pair it with espadrilles for a quick tour of the Italian coast.
Truthfully, I'd wear it just about anywhere if it could just hurry up and get warm already. In the meantime, I'll keep looking at it hanging in my closet and sighing longingly.
Chriselle x J.O.A. tiered sleeve minidress, $112, available at Nordstrom
