If you're a regular reader of this website (or you follow me on Twitter) you know that I am not a frequent buyer of items that every international editor, influencer or Instagram-famous "It" person seems to own. "Wake up, sheeple," I want to scream at the legions of shoppers lined up outside of Supreme every Thursday, or huddled outside of the Balenciaga flagship in Paris before it opens in the morning, hoping to score a pair of the much-hyped Triple S sneakers. However, despite my penchant for classic, understated fashion, I am not completely immune to street style-bait. For instance, I own a pair of the ubiquitous Adam Selman x Le Specs "The Last Lolita" cat-eye sunglasses — along with every other fashion-loving woman on the planet — and I love them so much that I truly don't care how many times I see them appear on my feed.
This spring, I am going to break my own rule again: This macrame bucket bag by Staud was everywhere during fashion month — to such a degree that it became one of the best-selling items of the season. Perhaps it's the accessible price point, the refreshing update on the timeless bucket bag shape, or the on-trend netting that makes it so desirable. It also looks like you could have picked it up on vacation and is enough of a statement to spice up even a white T-shirt and jean shorts. Sometimes, the numbers don't lie, whether those numbers are sales figures or Instagram likes.
Staud Moreau macrame and leather bucket bag, $338, available at Matchesfashion.
