Perhaps you haven't heard the name Beau Nelson — but chances are, you've almost definitely swooned over his work. The seasoned makeup artist's clients include Ashley Graham, Riley Keough, Stella Maxwell, Emily Ratajkowski and Kate Bosworth. He also regularly works with none other than Kristen Stewart, so if you (like the entire Fashionista team) have been drooling over the many killer lip and eye looks she's been wearing throughout this year's Cannes Film Festival, you have Nelson to thank for all that beauty inspo.

In addition to keeping up with his busy, celebrity-filled schedule, Nelson also routinely works on editorial shoots and ad campaigns. And he can be found with his makeup kit on his days off, too. It was during some of his rare downtime that he — inspired by Dior Beauty's violet- and fuchsia-heavy seasonal collection — decided to put together his own summery beauty shoot, exclusively for Fashionista.

"The collection had landed in my hands a bit early and I was inspired by all the beautiful rose tones in the collection," says Nelson. "I had a free day, so I invited a model [Evelyn Rain of Vision Los Angeles] to come over and we created these pictures together." Ahead, he breaks down each rosy, glossy, dreamy look and offers insight to the techniques and products he used to create them.

Luminous Skin + Bubblegum Lips

"Skin care is essential in prepping for this type of look. I used the Capture Youth Glow Booster Age Delay Illuminating Serum from Dior to give an immediate glow to the skin before I even started foundation or concealer," says Nelson. Then, to further enhance the luminosity of the skin, he dabbed Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish Illuminating Stick onto the high points of the face for a reflective gleam.

Monochromatic Mauve

"I love monochromatic makeup looks," says Nelson, who used one shadow from the Dior 5 Couleurs Spring Look 2018 Limited Edition palette and a soft brush to "blend the tone all over the eyelid, softly into the crease and around the bottom lash line, making sure to leave no hard edges."

"The key to this brow look is soft strokes with the pencil, and building up slowly," says Nelson. "Take your time and step back away from the mirror to get a bit of perspective as you work. I always define the tail first and then see if I need to fill in anywhere else."

The Perfect Pink Lip

"I use a big, fat lip brush and a heavy stroke to do a perfect mouth like this," says Nelson. If you're hoping to replicate this look yourself at home, though, he has a bit of advice: "It definitely helps to use a lip liner first to define the shape and then a lip brush to fill in the lip."

Lilac Shadow + Fuchsia Lips

"This is another monochromatic look, but done in a brighter, more fun way. Wearing color on the eyes looks best framed with black mascara and perfect lashes," says Nelson. He's a firm believer that yes, you can wear bold eyes, lips and cheeks all at the same time, you "just have to make tasteful choices." To keep things in check, the makeup pro advises keeping skin natural. "Too heavily made-up skin with all this color tends to look a bit cheap," says Nelson.
